Summary:
This working paper aims to explore how green and low-carbon technologies can drive the formation of "new quality productive forces" by facilitating the low-carbon transformation of traditional industries. Focusing on the case of green hydrogen (ammonia) co-firing in existing coal-fired power plants, the paper examines this technology as a practical short-to-medium-term solution that aligns with national policies, highlights its current pilot-stage progress in China, and discusses the key challenges—such as economic viability and supply stability—that must be addressed to enable broader adoption in the future.
