It analyzes the current status and challenges of waste management in China, then presents case studies from both domestic and international cities that demonstrate successful approaches across three areas: integrated municipal solid waste management (including source reduction, classification, food waste treatment, incineration, and landfill gas recovery); low\u2011carbon sludge treatment and disposal (emphasizing anaerobic digestion and co\u2011digestion with food waste); and monitoring, reporting, and verification systems for waste sector emissions. The guide identifies four key enabling factors for effective implementation: tailoring practices to local conditions, coordinated urban planning, legislative and policy integration, and multi\u2011stakeholder engagement.
