Summary:
This report analyzes the low-carbon transition pathway for Jiangxi Province, an energy-poor, coal-dependent interior province with limited renewable resources. It employs the Energy Policy Simulator (EPS) model across three scenarios to 2060, covering power, industry, transport, buildings, and land use. The analysis highlights Jiangxi's heavy reliance on coal, the dominance of cement and steel emissions, and the challenge of meeting national 2030 targets for carbon intensity and non-fossil energy share. It identifies priority policies including industrial electrification, building energy efficiency, power sector CCS deployment, and "road-to-rail/water" freight modal shift, providing phased recommendations for achieving carbon neutrality.
