Kang Junjie joined the Institute of Energy, Peking University in March 2021, where he serves as an Associate Researcher Professor and the Deputy Director of the Climate Change and Energy Transition Program. He is mainly responsible for research and project management in China’s  power sector, working on the topics of clean energy transition, power system reform, climate and environmental policies.

Previously, mr. Kang worked in the Natural Resources Defense Council and State Power Investment Corporation, researching energy policy and energy economy. He has presided over and participated in many research projects commissioned by NDRC, NEA, World Bank and UK PSF, etc. He has published many papers in international famous journals such as Nature Communication, Energy, Energy Policy and China Energy. His research achievements have been reported by many media outlets, including China Energy News, Caijing, Energy Observer, and he was interviewed exclusively by Southern Weekly. He has a Ph.D. in Techno-Economics and Management from North China Electric Power University in Beijing.

Kang
